Who we are and where we came from
We were set up in the late 1990s by a group of activists who wanted to make sure that no-one was left locked away in a long stay institution.
We believe strongly in everyone’s right to be an equal citizen and to live life to the full
This belief underpins everything we do.
We are committed to being truly person-centred, which means: –
- As an organisation we will always stay relatively small
- All important decisions are made by people who can appreciate their consequences.
- All of our managers make sure they know lots about everyone we work for.
How we work
We make sure that everyone we work for has: –
- A team of their own, configured to work at times that make sense
- The opportunity to build an ordinary life in, and become part of, a real community.
- Support designed around their hopes, dreams and aspirations that still meets their day-to-day needs.
